EVBOARD KARAOKE CONTEST

are you ready to rock?

Schedule

There is no set schedule at this point in time. Most round submissions will last between two-three weeks and voting will last 3 days.

The Rules

The rules below are really cut and dry. Make sure you read through all of them before submitting a track.

1. The use of auto-tuning software is prohibited. If it is discovered that you use auto-tune for any submission, you will be disqualified from the competition.

2. If none of the supplied tracks is to your liking, then you may submit a track that you find yourself. You may only submit that track once, so the next week you'll have to pick one of the 5 supplied or pick a different one you find yourself.

3. Tracks WILL NOT be identified with the EvBoard username that submitted it. This is to encourage you to listen to the track and evaluate it on its merits--not simply by who is your friend. We hope this will encourage the more self-conscious of you to participate.

FAQ

The rules below are really cut and dry. Make sure you read through all of them before submitting a track.

* Q: Do I have to participate in every round?
* A: There's no obligation to participate every round. Just submit for the weeks you can.

* Q: If I win a week, can I continue to participate?
* A: Yes. If it ends up that one person wins multiple weeks, then we'd also take the participant with the second highest vote count for that week to participate in the week 6 final.

* Q: Are we allowed to add echo or reverb?
* A: Yes.

* Q: Do we have to record in one segment (as in record from start to finish), or can we record some parts one day, some parts the next, and splice it together?
* A: Splicing and dicing are allowed.

* Q: Where should I host my mp3?
* A: I will be hosting all the tracks on my own web server. When participants email me the track, I will upload it to my server. I have plenty of bandwidth to burn.

* Q: Are we allowed to record tracks with harmony on them if we want to?
* A: Yes.

* Q: Is singing a capella allowed? Or with the ORIGINAL track playing very faintly in the background?
* A: Yes.

* Q: Can I change the pitch/key of a track so that I can sing it?
* A: Yes.
